Traditional Thursday

Cobbler
I am a huge supporter of healthy eating. I constantly try to fix healthy meals for my family and incorporate organic ingredients into our diet. Of course, there are always those recipes that have been handed down from through the family that don’t quite fall into this category. For this reason I adopted the motto, “Everything in moderation,” and I enjoy those southern staples. One such being cobbler. Don’t believe me? When was the last time you went to a church potluck where cobbler wasn’t present?-As I was saying, cobbler is a southern staple and every good southern girl has a go-to cobbler recipe. Here’s mine…

Ingredients:
1 stick margarine (melted)
¾ cup self rising flour
½ cup sugar
¾ cup milk
aprrox. 1 cup of your favorite fruit (i.e. blueberries, blackberries, cherries, etc.-peach is pictured below)

Mix all ingredients and pour into an oven-safe (I use a 8x8 glass dish). Bake at 350° for 35 to 45 minutes.
